Abstract
These mixed methods research aimed to evaluate and determine the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on low-income households particularly the Pantawid Pamilya Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) recipient-respondents of Botolan, Zambales, Philippines and to identify mitigation to improve respondents’ conditions. The respondents were parents of students enrolled in Botolan National High School, Botolan District of Zone 2, DepEd Division of Zambales. This study was conducted in the Fourth Quarter of the academic year 2020-2021. Findings of the study revealed that the majority of the parent-respondents are female who was high school graduate, farmers /fishers, low-income earners with 4 -6 family members and recipients of Pantawid Pamilya CCT for 7 years. The parents strongly agreed with the impact of the COVID-19 crisis in the socio-economic conditions of the Pantawid Pamilya recipient-respondents specifically on education. Findings revealed further that there is a significant difference in the perceived impacts of the COVID-19 crisis in the socio-economic conditions of the Pantawid Pamilya CCT in terms of livelihood when group according to parent-respondent occupation/source of income.
